These snips are excellent for those of you who sterilize your cutting tools with flame (and you do sterilize them between plants don't you?) because the metal handles extend to the full length of the grip. In other words if you overheat the blades, you can melt the grip, but the blades will not fall out of the handles as they do with some popular garden scissors.
They are also able to be sharpened and work well even on the toughest rhizome.
