Repotting Service available at the Menlo Park nursery only.

PLEASE LABEL EVERY PLANT WITH YOUR NAME. We suggest marker on the pot or on a piece of tape affixed to the pot.

*We reserve the right to refuse to take in:
dead, dying, infested, or diseased plants, at our discretion.

​IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ: 
WHILE WE WILL DO OUR BEST IN PROFESSIONALLY REPOTTING YOUR PLANT, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL SURVIVE, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS BROUGHT TO US IN AN ALREADY STRESSED CONDITION. REPOTTING MAY ENABLE YOUR PLANT TO GROW AND BLOOM, BUT WILL NOT FORCE IT TO DO SO.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN PLANTS CURRENTLY INFESTED WITH MITES, APHIDS, MEALY BUGS, SCALE, THRIPS, OR OTHER PESTS. If you are unsure of what you are looking at, please email us a picture and brief description to [email protected] .
We will get back to you with advice on how to treat the plant before bringing it in.

Please keep in mind, pre-existing damage on leaves, stems, and roots is permanent. Keeping the plant in our greenhouse will not "heal" the damage. 

It is our policy to keep your plant at the nursery until the roots have established themselves and the plant is stable in the pot. We cannot predict how long the process will take however, we will contact you when your plant is ready for pick up. In the meantime, you are welcome to call or email for a status report.

Finally, please keep in mind that repotting an orchid may delay the plants re-blooming. 

You are welcome to request a plant be divided, or potted up to a larger pot . We will accommodate your wishes to the best of our ability. However, if the request is determined to be detrimental to the plant, we reserve the right to choose a better option. We do not repot into decorative pots or planters; they do not have adequate drainage and are not optimal for orchid health. We do not pot multiple, or different species orchids in to a single container. We only repot orchids, bat lilies, tillandsias and bromeliads.

 Local Menlo Park/Peninsula residents only:
 If you have large numbers of Cymbidiums, or multiple large, heavy plants, we can make arrangements to have your plants picked up and delivered. There will be a $30.00 charge for each pick up or delivery trip.

Shipping Policy

- Plants are packed with great care, however we cannot guarantee flowers, buds, sheaths or spikes once the package leaves the nursery.
- We offer local pick up at the nursery in Portola Valley
- We ship in the continental US only.
- We ship on Monday – Tuesday.
- If a payment is received after 9:00 AM PST Tuesday, we may ship the item the following Monday.
- We use Fedex and UPS to ship product orders.
- P.O. boxes are not accepted, you must have a physical address.
- Each purchase may be shipped separately.
- We do not ship floral arrangements, Local SF peninsula delivery van service only - by arrangement.

Express Service will ship on Mondays only because it takes 5 working days to deliver and UPS does not deliver on the weekend. Please take this into consideration when you choose Express Service.

Any inclement weather delays for any level of shipping, that includes overnight, is beyond Brookside Orchids control.

If you feel there may be an issue with extreme heat or cold en route, please contact us if you need to put a hold on shipping.

Time to arrival/delivery quotes are generated on our website by FedEx and UPS, not Brookside Orchids.  FedEx and UPS quotes are when they pick up packages from Brookside Orchids. Also keep in mind the package will not travel in a direct route but rather from one shipping hub to another.

​NOTE: We do not ship to Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

Winter Weather Policy

We recommend against using UPS 3 Day Select and FedEx Express Service, especially during months when extreme cold is possible. These two options prolong the time orchids are in transit, making them susceptible to harsh conditions. We can hold orders until weather warms upon request. It is up to you to notify us to hold a shipment and then notify us again when to ship it. If you are ordering an orchid in spike/bloom and your order is held, the orchid may not be in spike/bloom by the time we can ship it.

If you choose to use UPS 3 Day Select and FedEx Express Service, we will not be responsible for any damage that may occur to your plants. If damage occurs and you wish to file a claim with UPS, it will be your responsibility to do so.
