Shipping Policy
- Plants are packed with great care, however we cannot guarantee flowers, buds, sheaths or spikes once the package leaves the nursery.
- We offer local pick up at the nursery in Menlo Park
- We ship in the continental US only.
- We ship on Monday – Tuesday.
- If a payment is received after 9:00 AM PST Tuesday, we may ship the item the following Monday.
- We use Fedex and UPS to ship product orders.
- P.O. boxes are not accepted, you must have a physical address.
- Each purchase may be shipped separately.
- We do not ship floral arrangements, Local SF peninsula delivery van service only - by arrangement.
If you feel there may be an issue with extreme heat or cold en route, please contact us if you need to put a hold on shipping.
Express Service will ship on Mondays only because it takes 5 working days to deliver and UPS does not deliver on the weekend. Please take this into consideration when you choose Express Service.
Any inclement weather delays for any level of shipping, that includes overnight, is beyond Brookside Orchids control.
Time to arrival/delivery quotes are generated on our website by FedEx and UPS, not Brookside Orchids. FedEx and UPS quotes are when they pick up packages from Brookside Orchids. Also keep in mind the package will not travel in a direct route but rather from one shipping hub to another.
Please don’t rely on us to know the forecasted weather for your area.
In the rare instance if damage occurs to the plant before shipping. We would only replace it with the same species/ genus, hybrid, clone of equal size and quality. If this is impossible the nursery will contact you.
Winter Weather Policy
During winter months
Due to weather, UPS 3 Day Select and FedEx Express Service shipping may result in damage to plants that you order. If you still want to checkout using this cost effective shipping option, we are not responsible for damage caused to the plant.
We recommend against using UPS 3 Day Select and FedEx Express Service, especially during months when extreme cold is possible. These two options prolong the time orchids are in transit, making them susceptible to harsh conditions. We can hold orders until weather warms upon request. It is up to you to notify us to hold a shipment and then notify us again when to ship it. If you are ordering an orchid in spike/bloom and your order is held, the orchid may not be in spike/bloom by the time we can ship it. If you choose to use UPS 3 Day Select and FedEx Express Service, we will not be responsible for any damage that may occur to your plants. If damage occurs and you wish to file a claim with FedEx or UPS, it will be your responsibility to do so.

The buyer has 14 days after receiving the plant to report an issue. Please contact us via email: [email protected],or come into the store as soon as possible after receiving the plant so that we can address any problems.
We strive to ensure all plants bought at Brookside Orchids are of the highest quality. In the rare case where a plant may be less than the highest quality, we will make an assessment of the plant. If damage was not incurred by the shipping company, we will offer replacement or credit upon individual case where warranted.
Plants are perishable, after they leave the nursery their care is beyond our control.
After 14 days, we do not have the ability to guarantee that the water, temperature, light, and the care it receives will ensure that the selected plants will thrive or survive. It is up to the individual to pay attention to their orchid’s needs and problems as they arise.
