Bulbophyllum mastersianum 2" FS
species - Borneo, Moluccas
"In person" this is a really beautiful flower! The 8-9 individual flowers, each about 1.25-1.5" in length are held daisy-like in an umbel that is 3-4" across on an upright to arching stem. The compact plants are warm growers that like nights in the 60"s and days in the 80's with dappled light, humidity and good air movement (avoid hot, dry, still environments). Ours are grown in NZ sphagnum moss which is ideal for the moisture loving roots. Water to keeps the roots moist rather than constantly soggy and use a liquid or water soluble fertilizer once a month. The plants are compact,
but will, in time, produce larger clumps that can be easily divided. Although listed as Spring blooming, Bulbophyllum mastersianum blooms for us at other times as well. This is not one of the "stinky" Bulbophyllums!
