Vanda (Neofinetia) falcata
species - Japan, Korea, Ryukyu Islands
This is a miniature cold to warm growing species. That means in its natural setting, it can experience seasonal changes in temperature. In cultivation, the plants can grow in both consistently cool and warm environments. Bright indirect light would be best and the leaves may take on some reddish coloration, but the plants will stay more compact than those grown in constant shade. Water and fertilize regularly using a liquid or water soluble fertilizer once a month. Don't allow the roots to remain constantly wet. The plants will grow well in both coarse bark or sphagnum moss and can also grow well mounted on cork or other suitable material (avoid marine driftwood as sea salt is toxic to most orchids).
Our plants are small (~3" in leafspan), but are flowering size-the pictures to the right show some of the possibilities of this group. These are seedlings, so there will be some color variability, from white with color stained stems to deep magenta as shown. Mature plants can have 5-6 flowers per stem and can produce multiple stems.
LIMITED! FLOWERING SIZE, BUT NOT NECESSARILY IN SPIKE WHEN SHIPPED!!!
