Laelia purpurata v. carnea 'Pink Coral' X self 3''
Laelia purpurata v. carnea
species - Brazil
In our experience, this is the most popular form of the many L. purpurata varieties. It is fairly temperature tolerant; we have grown and flowered it successfully in a greenhouse in which the temperature often drops to 40 degrees at night during Winter months. Of course it will grow well with temperatures from 60-85 degrees night to day. The plants like bright indirect light. Water and fertilize regularly using a liquid or water soluble fertilizer once a month. Allow the medium to dry a bit between waterings and slow down on the frequency of both as days become shorter, cooler and drier.
Fragrant 6-8" flowers appear quite quickly from sheaths evident months before, 3-6 in number in late Spring-Summer.
