(the common name, "Maudiae" refers to one of the first hybrids of this type, registered in 1900)
An array of these popular houseplant orchids.
All have name tags with parentage. They are available in 3 main color groups: green, vinicolor (dark, inky purple) and coloratum (everything else). Sorry, we cannot guarantee color preference. Flowers are long lasting and the plants are among the best for growing indoors lower light and growing under lights indoors. The plants appreciate temperature of 60-65 degrees at night though they will tolerate somewhat lower Water and feed regularly aiming to keep the roots moist (not soggy) at all times (yes, they will be very wet after watering). No direct sun is necessary; grow the much like Phalaenopsis. Use a liquid or water soluble fertilizer at half strength twice a month.
Temperature: warmer nights are best: 60-65 degrees
Light: low light tolerant. This doesn't mean no light, rather dappled light, no direct sun.
Water: keep medium moist, not continually soggy, fertilize regularly using a liquid or water soluble plant food at half strength twice a month.
