Cycnoches Jean E. Monnier 2" FS - BEGINNING TO SPIKE!
Cycnoches Jean E. Monnier
(barthiorum X cooperi)
Fragrant 2.5-3"flowers are held on very pendant stems that often hang well below the bottom of the pot. They are variably colored and spotted (photos to the left from SVO are examples). The plants like bright, though not hot direct light and temperatures from about 65 to 85+ degrees night to day. During the growing season, mostly late Spring through Summer, the plants should be fed heavily and watered regularly. They are deciduous and sometime after flowering or growths are mature, leaves will begin to yellow and fall. This is normal! Once the stem is bare cease feeding and water very infrequently aiming to just keep the stems from shriveling. Some growers actually bareroot them for a mostly Winter rest. Replant and/or begin watering and heavy feeding again when new growth begins.
