Cymbidium Golden Elf 'Sundust'
(ensifolium X Enid Haupt)
A Summer blooming Cymbidium? Well that's what was intended. Registered in 1978, Golden Elf combined the fragrance and Summer blooming season of Cym. ensifolium with the standard Enid Haupt. Once very popular, Golden Elf has been mostly forgotten in a flood of new miniature hybrids. It combines the vegetative grace and fragrance of the Asian parent with the color, ease of growth and slightly larger flower of the standard Cym.
You can grow these as you would a standard Cymbidium with bright indirect light. Water and feed heavily while in growth and do not let them become "bone dry". Golden Elf can tolerate cold nights as do normal Cyms. Our plants are growing vigorously in NZ sphagnum moss.
Oh, and did I mention that the flowers have a beautiful scent?!!
