C. (Gur.) aurantiaca 'Spots' X Epi. stamfordianum 2" NFS
Cattleya (Gur.) aurantiaca X Epidendrum stamfordianum
An unusual line of breeding that has produced many awards. In general, the offspring produce many flowers on upright stem that originate from the top of the new growth rather than on one that comes from the base as is the case with Epi. stamfordianum!
Flowers will be about 1" in size, many (up to 20 or more) when the plants have matured.
Give the plants bright indirect light and temperatures between about 65 and 85 degrees night to day. Water and feed regularly; use a liquid or water soluble fertilizer once a month. Our plants are near first blooming size. Be careful not to let the young plants become bone-dry as they are in 2" rose pots-protracted dryness can slow or stop development. At the same time do not let the medium become overwet, for much the same reason (hint: a dry mistake is better than a wet one; for the former, water is the cure, for the latter, alas, the cure is often "start over"!).
