Lycaste (Sandstorm X aromatica)
Lycaste aromatica, pictured above to the right is the well known cool/warm growing species from Mexico, Guatemala, el al. Lyc. Sandstorm (3 varieties pictured below) is over 60% Lyc. (virginalis) skinneri. The flowers of Lyc. aromatica are about 3" in size, while those of Sandstorm is about 4". Both are cool growing (around 55 degrees at nigh for us), dappled light lovers, deciduous with long lasting blooms. Flowers for the cross will likely be yellow, possible light green or, even less likely, pink about 3.5" in size, Spring and Summer blooming. They may be fragrant, too! FIRST RELEASE!
