species - Nigeria, Cameroon, CAR, Guinea, Gabon, Congo, Zaire, Angola
Angraecum eichlerianum is a vining plant unlike many of the more popular Angraecums, that, after many years can become quite long. Fortunately, they are easy to section into more manageable sizes. The plants like dappled or semi-shady light and warm temperatures*. Ours are grown with temperatures between about 65 and 85 degrees night to day. As they grow longer, they are best grown fastened to a mossed pole, redwood or fern (hapuu) post to which they will eventually root. They like good humidity and regular watering and feeding. Add a liquid or water soluble plant food to your watering regimen once a month (see ours in the "Supplies" section). Fragrant, 3" flowers appear mostly in Summer singly or in pairs on 4-6" stems. The plants can begin to bloom while still fairly small. Ours are about 4" tall.

*Grower's Note: Depending on how much reading you do, you may find that some of the plants we list as 'warm' growers are listed as 'hot' growers elsewhere. We have chosen to list our plants as warm, because there are not too many who can continually provide temperatures of 75 degrees or more at night on a consistent basis. Most of the plants we sell as 'warm' growing will do well at 65 degrees at night without straining either budget or comfort.
