This warm and bright growing plant is now properly called Guarianthe aurantiaca for technical taxonomic reasons. It is an easy grower that can be grown both in pot and mounted although in pot, it prefers a rather coarse mix when the plant is mature enough (likes quick draining media and air around the roots). Our plants are the spotted version as shown in the picture to the right. It is often listed as a hot to cool grower because in nature the plants can experience seasonal variations, but they do well in cultivation with temperatures around 60-65 and 85 degrees night to day. Water and feed regularly; use a liquid or water soluble plant food once a month. Allow the medium to dry slightly between waterings as the plants don't like soggy "feet".
NOTE: Our plants are on the small size, but have new growths that are very likely to bloom next Winter-Spring.
