A lovely form of the Brazilian species that is quite temperature tolerant. We grow it here with temperatures as low as 40 degrees at night, but we have seen it survive temperatures into the 30's if given a little overhead protection. Of course warmer temperatures will speed growth. Flowers are a bit smaller than the coloratum forms, 6-7", and the plants like bright indirect light. Blooming season is mostly April-June with 3-6 flowers per stem. Sheaths may appear well in advance of flowers, but once buds appear they develop very rapidly. Water a fertilize regularly especially after new grows appear.
