Dendrobium spectabile aurea
species - Papua & New Guinea, Solomon Islands
Fantastic long-lasting flowers to 3" across are borne on stems of up to 20 usually in Winter-Spring. The plants themselves are vigorous up to about 24" at maturity. Dendrobium spectabile is a warm grower, preferring night temperatures around 65 or above and days in the mid to upper 80's. They also like bright indirect light with regular watering and fertilizing (see ours in the "Supplies" section). As days become shorter, darker and cooler, both of these should be reduced somewhat, but not eliminated. This is the pure yellow version of the species!
