Probably one of the most rewarding Oncidium Alliance* hybrids of recent date is Oncostele Wildcat. With many varieties in circulation, Wildcat is generally a compact grower with long lasting flowers in the range of 2-2.25" in size. They have also been widely used in hybridizing. 'Garfield' is one of the best in terms of both plant and flower quality.
Wildcat would like bright indirect light and is fairly temperature tolerant doing reasonably well with night temperatures from 50 to 65 degrees and day temperatures of 80-85 degrees. These are planted in sphagnum moss and it should be kept moist (i.e. some where in between soggy and dry, though on the drier side of center. Fertilize twice a month with a liquid or water soluble fertilizer (see our in the 'Supplies' section.
