Vandaglossum Pixie Star

(Vanda [Neofinetia] falcata X Holcoglossum amesianum)


This is a Brookside original! fragrant 1" flowers are held on 8-10" upright stems 6-10 in number, opening successively, mostly Spring-Summer. The plants are about 10" in leafspan will stiff, semi-terete foliage. Like both parents, Pixie Star will form multi-growth plants.


Grow Pixie Star with temperatures between about 60 to 80 degrees night to day. Best in a coarse mix that will allow some drying of the roots between waterings. Apply a liquid or water soluble fertilizer regularly and give the plants bright indirect light.

Shipping Policy

- Plants are packed with great care, however we cannot guarantee flowers, buds, sheaths or spikes once the package leaves the nursery.
- We offer local pick up at the nursery in Portola Valley
-  We ship in the continental US only.
-  We ship on Monday – Tuesday.
-  If a payment is received after 9:00 AM PST Tuesday, we may ship the item the following Monday.
-  We use UPS to ship product orders.
- P.O. boxes are not accepted, you must have a physical address.
-  Each purchase may be shipped separately.
- We do not ship floral arrangements, Local SF peninsula delivery van service only - by arrangement.
- We cannot guarantee a delivery gets to a specific address in the time frame requested due to Covid 19 impact on the whole shipping business.

Ground will ship on Mondays only because it takes 5 working days to deliver and UPS does not deliver on the weekend. Please take this into consideration when you choose Ground.

Any inclement weather delays for any level of shipping, that includes overnight, is beyond Brookside Orchids control.

If you feel there may be an issue with extreme heat or cold en route, please contact us if you need to put a hold on shipping.

Time to arrival/delivery quotes are generated on our website by UPS, not Brookside Orchids.  UPS quotes are when they pick up packages from Brookside Orchids. Also keep in mind the package will not travel in a direct route but rather from one shipping hub to another.

Winter Weather Policy

We recommend against using UPS 3rd Day Select and Ground options, especially during months when extreme cold is possible. These two options prolong the time orchids are in transit, making them susceptible to harsh conditions. We can hold orders until weather warms upon request. It is up to you to notify us to hold a shipment and then notify us again when to ship it. If you are ordering an orchid in spike/bloom and your order is held, the orchid may not be in spike/bloom by the time we can ship it.

If you choose to use 3 Day Select or Ground, we will not be responsible for any damage that may occur to your plants. If damage occurs and you wish to file a claim with UPS, it will be your responsibility to do so.​
