Brassocatanthe Taiwan Chameleon 'Chameleon'
Brassocatanthe Taiwan Chameleon
(Bct. Mickey's Freckles X Bsn. Maikai)
This is a Brassavola nodosa complex hybrid that involves 13 other Cattleya Alliance species. B. nodosa comprises over 40% of the background genetics. Hybrids in which it has a major influence are typically easy to grow and flower are compact although they can spread out to form specimen plants in a relatively short period of time.
Give these bright indirect light and temperatures between 60 and 85 degrees night to day. Water and fertilize regularly allowing the roots to dry a bit between waterings. A coarse medium is best when repotting; B. nodosa hybrids do well as mounted plants as well using pieces of cork, tree fern or other suitable material (avoid ocean driftwood).
