Brassanthe Elizabeth 4N
(Brassavola nodosa X Guarianthe skinneri)
In general, Brassavola nodosa crosses are vigorous, compact, make good specimen plants and have lots of flowers. This is the tetraploid version of another such hybrid converted from a diploid clone. Tetraploids frequently have longer lasting, larger flowers than the diploids they are taken from.
These are vigorous plants that would like bright indirect light, temperatures around 60-85 degrees night to day and regular watering and fertilizing. They would also like to dry a bit between waterings as B. nodosa isn't tolerant of constantly wet media. Also, like most nodosa hybrids, these can be grown well mounted on cork, tree fern or other suitable media (NOTE: do not use ocean driftwood as the salts it contains are toxic to orchids).
