Brassocattleya Morning Glory
(Brassavola nodosa X Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata)
This is one of the more outstanding Brassavola nodosa hybrids of which there are many. The B. nodosa hybrids are generally easy to grow and reward the grower with an abundance of flowers on "specimen" size plants fairy quickly (in orchid terms). They also make good subjects for mounting. Flowers up to 6" have been recorded on a mature plant. This is a mostly a Winter bloomer.
Give Morning Glory bright indirect light, and temperatures from 60 to 85 degrees night to day. Water and fertilize regularly allowing the roots to dry slightly between applications. B. nodosa hybrids typically resent old broken down media.
