Cattleya forbesii X sib 3"
species - Brazil
This species is one of our favorites. It is a slim stemmed bifoliate (2 leaves), that blooms in Fall with long lasting fragrant, 4" flowers. The plants prefer bright indirect light, temperatures from about 55 to 80 degrees night to day. Water and fertilize regularly allowing the medium to dry a smidge between applications. Let the plants rest a while from fertilizer and cut back a bit on water during the shorter, cooler days of Winter. This species grows well mounted on a suitable piece of cork or wood (but, as always, avoid fresh oceanic driftwood) or other medium, but make sure that it drains quickly.
NOT FLOWERING SIZE, NOT IN BUD OR BLOOM.
