Coryanthes misasii 6" basket NFS
species - Colombia
One of the famous bucket orchids that actually secrete liquid into the "cup" formed by the lip that traps a bee and allows it to exit, soaked, but having picked up the pollen on the way out! Very complex fragrant flowers that grow much like Stanhopeas in form. They like shade, prefer to be wet and would rather be warm day and night. A local expert says that Coryanthes misasii is one of the more tolerant Coryanthes regarding growing conditions. Eventually these are planted in mossed, hanging baskets to accommodate their pendant flower stems.
VERY LIMITED! NEAR FLOWERING SIZE, BUT NOT CURRENTLY IN SPIKE!!
