Dendrobium (glomeratum X roslii) 3"
Dendrobium (glomeratum X roslii)
This is an interesting, as yet unbloomed hybrid from Malaysia. Both parents are semi-deciduous, blooming mostly on bare canes. Den. glomeratum can attain canes to 30+" and its flowers are long lasting and sparkle in sunlight. It is also a cool grower that blooms at any time and likes bright indirect light. Den. roslii, now called terengganuensis is a warm grower that like dappled light and blooms in Fall-Winter months.
Some in the field suggest that the plant that bears the seed capsule has a greater influence on the resulting hybrid. We'll just have to wait and see. The seedlings are vigorous and would be best mounted or planted in baskets to accommodate their pendant growth habit.
