Maxillaria sophronitis 4" FS
species - Venezuela, Colombia
Maxillaria sophronitis is a dwarf, mounding plant that produces sparkling orange-red flowers Fall-Winter. In nature it is a cloud forest denizen that likes cool-cold temperatures and bright to semi-bright light. Planted in NZ sphagnum moss, they prefer to be moist. Do add a liquid or water soluble fertilizer to the watering regimen twice a month. These do well mounted and would make a nice addition to a large terrarium or Wardian case.
