A very unique and lovely flower, Coelogyne usitana is best grown in a hanging basket because its stem, beginning at the center of a new growth, may extend over time to almost 24". Downfacing flowers, almost 3" in size, are produced singly and in succession over several months on a mature plant. The flowering season is, therefore, variable.
Our plants are blooming size and are planted in 3" pots using sphagnum moss. Coelogyne usitana would like warm temperatures (65-85 degrees night to day) with indirect or dappled light. Water and fertilize regularly (see our fertilizers in the "Supplies" section) and aim to keep the medium moist, not soggy.
