This is a cool to cold grower that, in nature, in its countries of origin grows as a terrestrial on steep rocky slopes in full sun. We've grown our seedlings successfully with night temperatures around 65 and days to 85 degrees. When mature, the plants can exceed 42" in height. The terminal spike is long, turning sharply downward to about 24", bearing 3-4 "sub-stems" each 6-8" long, each bearing 30-50 1 inch fragrant flowers. Ours are ~ 6" tall, but growing rapidly. They are planted in New Zealand sphagnum moss. You can grow them as we do (for faster growth) or cooler in bright indirect light watering and fertilizing regularly (see our fertilizers in the "Supplies" section), however do not allow the moss to become soggy.
