For home growing, Ascocentrum ampullaceum is a warm grower (65 -85 degrees night to day) that likes bright light and a cooler drier Winter. It doesn't respond well to constantly wet roots and does well in wooden slat baskets.
These are Spring-Summer bloomers and can bear many short, densely packed stems of .5 -
1.5" flowers. There are 3 or 4 color varieties of of Ascocentrum ampullaceum, this is the magenta one as shown. Our plants have a leafspan of about 8".
