Dendrobium bensoniae 3"
species - Assam, Myanmar, Thailand
Here is another of the Spring blooming Dendrobiums that require a Winter rest in order to bloom well. In the case of Den. bensoniae this means an elimination of regular fertilizing and a reduction of water (don't allow the plants to dry out completely). Normally a warm grower, Den. bensoniae can withstand temperatures into the 30's for a short time if necessary if kept drier. A chill does help initiate flowering. Flower are about 2.5" in size and fragrant with a sparkling texture.
