Grammatophyllum scriptum 'Irian Jaya' X self 3''
Grammatophyllum scriptum
species - Irian Jaya (West Papua, Indonesia)
Have you ever wished you could grow a Grammatophyllum scriptum (the "Leopard Orchid"), but thought they were just too big? Here's a more compact version. It isn't the miniature you may have heard of , but it is manageable, plants topping out around 24" at maturity with flower stems up to 36". The long-lasting flowers are about 1.5" across and are 30-36 in number. The plants bloom in late Spring -Summer and like bright indirect light, temperatures from 60-85 degrees night to day with regular watering and fertilizing especially during warm weather.
These are growing in New Zealand orchid bark and can be moved on into a medium grade of the bark.
Well grown, they will be about 2 years to first bloom.
NOT FLOWERING SIZE, NOT CURRENTLY IN SPIKE, BUD OR BLOOM!!
