Brassavola nodosa
species - Widespread through Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America
So sweetly scented at night is this species that it has garnered the name 'Lady of the Night'. It prefers bright indirect light and intermediate to warm conditions (60 - 85 degrees night to day). These are planted in New Zealand pine bard and should be allowed to dry slightly between waterings. Add a liquid or water soluble fertilizer to the water once or twice a month. Grow a bit drier during the Winter.
The "Lady" flowers out of the newly developing growth with 4 to 6 nearly 4" flowers, usually in Spring or Summer, but can flower at any time of year. These are 3-4 growth seedlings and, when they bloom, will be blooming for the first time
Brassavola nodosa also makes a great mounted plant too!
