Phalaenopsis pulcherrima 'Wilson' 4N NFS 3" mericlone
Phalaenopsis pulcherrima 4N
species - India through Myanmar to Chinese Himalayas and Yunnan China, Thailand to Vietnam and south to Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra
This is an interesting plant in many ways. First it has twice the normal number of chromosomes (indicated by "4N") and second it is also a "peloric" form (peloria is the trait that causes the petals to take on aspects of the lip - color and/or shape). The flowers should be around 1" across on upright stems appearing Spring-Fall. The plants would appreciate dappled light, warm temperatures (65-85 degrees night-day) with regular water, the aim being to keep roots just damp. Add a liquid or water soluble fertilizer to the water once or twice a month (see ours in the "Supplies" section).
