Phalaenopsis amboinensis
species - Ambon Island, Sulawesi, Papua & New Guinea and Indonesia
This is a warm grower that produces scented 2-3" flowers during late Winter-Spring. Phalaenopsis amboinensis has been used extensively in hybridizing contributing a rich yellow coloration and floral longevity among other things to its offspring. Flower stems of about 8" are produced both under and laterally and slightly arching above the foliage. Give the plants dappled light and temperatures between about 65 and 85 degrees night to day.
