This is a warm growing, shade loving plant that bears 2-2.5" fragrant, glossy, heavy textured flowers Spring-Summer. It is also one of the species that produces "keikis" (Hawaiian for "babies") new plantlets on existing green stems. These can be carefully removed when they have multiple roots of their own and grown on as separate plants. For this reason it's a good idea not to cut off stems that are still green in addition to the fact that green stems may continue to produce new flowers for quite some time.
As with most Phalaenopsis, water and feed regularly aiming to keep the medium damp, not soggy. This means water heavily and wait rather than watering sparingly and often.
