Lysudamuloa Red Jewel 'Hilo Girl' NFS 4''
Lysudamuloa Red Jewel
(Lycamerlycaste Geyser Gold X Angulocaste Red Jade)
As confusing as it may look, this hybrid is over 90% Lycaste. Flowers stand upright but are better staked as the 5+" flowers, have a tendency to pull the stem over. The flowers are usually borne singly, but sometimes in pairs and the plant may put up more than one spike at a time.
We grow Red Jewel more or less as an intermediate (around 55-60 at night) in semi-shade being careful to keep the thin leaves from burning. Roots would prefer to stay moist, not soggy, so regular watering and fertilizing are a must.
