Laelia purpurata roxo-violetta X sib 4" NFS
Laelia purpurata roxo-violetta
species - Brazil
This is another variation of the popular easy growing Brazilian Laelia species. "Roxo-violetta" means "purple-violet" in Brazil. Although listed by some as a hot to warm grower, Laelia purpurata proves very temperature tolerant here on the West Coast and we've grown them successfully into the low 40's at night.
Grown properly, the plants are sturdy and upright, producing fragrant flowers Spring-Fall. Flowers are large and showy, 3-7 per stem and benefit from a drier Winter following seasonal patterns. Give these bright indirect light, 55-65 degree nights with regular watering and applications of fertilizer (reducing both as noted above).
