Phalaenopsis venosa 3" NFS
species - Celebes Islands
Since its original description in 1983, Phalaenopsis venosa has earned a solid place in the breeders' pursuit of yellow Phalaenopsis hybrids - it has been a parent in over 300 registered crosses.
At maturity, flowers are 1.5-2" in size and are held 5-6, successively opening on a 5-7" more-or-less upright stem. Our plants are 6"+ in leafspan and are near first blooming size.
Like many Phalaenopsis, Phal. venosa like indirect light (i.e. shady), warm temperatures (65-85 degrees night-day) and regular watering and fertilizing. They are planted in NZ pine bark and would rather not thoroughly dry out.
Limited! NEAR FLOWERING SIZE, BUT NOT CURRENTLY IN SPIKE/BUD.
