Phalaenopsis stuartiana v. nobilis 'Wilson' 3" NFS mericlone
Phalaenopsis stuartiana v. nobilis
species - Mindinao the Philippines
A surprising variation of the normally pretty, white species with maroon spots on the lower sepals. This is a Winter-Spring bloomer and plants are near flowering size (7-9" leafspan). The leaves are a dark green flushed with purple underneath. Flowers are about 2" and are held on branching stems; mature plants can produce up to 100 somewhat fragrant flowers.
Phalaenopsis stuartiana comes from humid forests on the island of MIndinao and in cultivation like shade, warm nights (65 degrees and up) and moist roots. They are offered in pots, but because of their long somewhat pendant or low arching stems, they display better when mounted or grown in hanging baskets.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Flowers begin to open more yellow on the reverse and in a few days start showing color on the front..
LIMITED!! NEAR FLOWERING SIZE, BUT NOT CURRENTLY IN SPIKE/FLOWER!!
