Encyclia parviflora 3"
species - Mexico, Nicaragua
Here is a fragrant species grow from captive (i.e. not collected) seed. Flowers are about 1.5" across and are held on a branched (when mature) stem about 18" in length.
Encyclia parviflora would "appreciate" (i.e. will grow and bloom for you) bright light, and warm temperatures (65-85 night to day) with regular applications of water and a liquid or water soluble fertilizer (see ours in the "Supplies" section).
When mature these plants have amazingly round, shiny pseudobulbs! (Those roundish things that the leaves are attached to).
NOTE: this species as, is the case with many Encyclias, does not appreciate (see above) old, broken down or soggy growing media.
