Bulbophyllum lilacinum 3"
species - Malaysia, Thailand
These are vigorous growers and as is the case with many Bulbophyllums, prefer moist media, good humidity, dappled light and generally warm conditions, though this particular species is listed as "cool" tolerant, meaning 55-60 degrees at night. The specific name "lilacinum" refers to the flower color as the flowers age rather than the fragrance. This one seems to have no fragrance. Hanging baskets are the best for growing the mature plants as the growths tend to have longish stolons and often bloom outside or over the edge of their containers.
