Vanda coerulescens "Pink" 3" Blooming Size
Vanda coerulescens "Pink"
species - India, Himalayas, China, Myanmar, Thailand
Here is a real charmer. The usual color of these small Vandas is blue, hence the species name, but these are a pink form of the same easy growing species. Our plants are about 7" across with 5 or more sets of leaves and are blooming size.
Flowers are about 1" across and are held on an upright stem. The plant shown on the right has 8 flowers/buds and is the first of the cross to bloom. Vanda coerulescens is touted to grow with cooler night temperatures, but ours grew well at 60-65 degree nights with bright sunlight and regular watering and feeding using a rather "chunky" bark medium to allow both air at the roots and to prevent them from becoming waterlogged.
A very few are in spike/flower now for the first to order!
