Wilhelmara Pinot Princess 'Scary'
(Rhynchostele bictoniensis X Bratonia Kauai's Choice)
Not really so scary, the genus used to be called Degarmoara. True, the flowers are a bit "spidery", but if you take care of them they will perform well.
Stems are about 24" and can hold 8-10 - 3 "+ flowers that are a deep wine color with a red spotted lip. Grow these under intermediate conditions, that is with night temperatures of around 55-60 degrees with bright indirect light and keep them moist, but not soggy. Remember, these plants are grown in New Zealand sphagnum moss and it won't dry out as fast as those planted in bark. Test the moss with your finger tip to ascertain whether it has begun to dry. Water thoroughly when the top of the moss begins to feel dry.
