Here it is, the "End of the World" orchid! Just in time, too! Well, no, it isn't really prophetic, it comes from the End of the World Mountains way down in New Guinea. Whew!
Its unique flowers are about 2.5" across and can occur in Winter-Summer and are very long-lasting. Though it is listed by some as a cool-cold grower, ours seem to do better with warmer nights. In any case these plants like semi-bright, indirect light and do not require a Winter rest from water and fertilizer, which they should receive regularly. Use a liquid or water soluble plant food at half strength twice a month. See ours in the "Supplies" section. Repot soon.
