Bulbophyllum laxiflorum 4" Basket
Bulbophyllum laxiflorum BEGINNING TO SPIKE NOW!
species: Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Borneo, Sulawesi, Sumatra, Philippines
In flower, Bulbophyllum laxiflorum looks like a plant with tiny sparklers attached. The individual flowers are only about 5/8" across, but there may be up to 20 on a stem. They are said to have a musky scent...which is an improvement over many of the genus. Though they are showing spikes now,
Bulbophyllum laxiflorum can bloom at any time of year.
They grow well for us in a greenhouse than stays around 65 degrees at night in a semi-shady location. These are planted in NZ sphagnum moss that should be kept moist (not soggy) wil regular applications of fertilizer. Good air circulation and reasonable humidity are beneficial.
These are planted in 4" plastic mesh baskets, hanger included.
