Dendrobium kingianum album 3" NFS - VERY LIMITED
Dendrobium kingianum album
species - Australia (Queensland and New South Wales)
This is the alba (white) version of the ever-popular Aussie native. It is harder to find than the pink to purple form, but likes the same conditions: bright indirect light with regular watering and fertilizing using a liquid or water soluble fertilizer (see ours in the "Supplies" section). Dendrobium kingianum is very temperature tolerant, but grows best with cool nights and days in the mid 80's. Give it some protection if night temperatures drop below 40 degrees.
The 1" fragrant flowers are borne in Winter-Spring and will last longer if kept cool, i.e. outside or in a cool window. Den. kingianum will grow well in a variety of orchid media as well as mounted on a suitable piece of wood, cork bark or rock.
IMPORTANT NOTE: do not use ocean driftwood unless it has been very well leached, embedded salts are toxic to most orchids.
NEAR FLOWERING SIZE - NOT CURRENTLY IN BUD OR FLOWER - LIMITED!!
