Oncidium Twinkle 'Yellow Bird' NFS mounted
Oncidium Twinkle 'Yellow Bird' (cheirophorum X sotoanum)
This is our first release of the 'Yellow Bird' clone, a bright addition to the Twinkle line. The plants are mounted and established (rooted) on virgin cork bark and would do best in bright indirect light. Leaf tips tend to burn if the plant is allowed to become dry for too long, so regular watering (mist or "dunk") is a must. Twinkle is reasonably temperature tolerant, but 60 degrees or so at night would do best. Good air movement and good local humidity are a plus.
These are petite plants about to produce their first blooms. Cared for properly, Twinkle will become a relatively small plant and a prolific bloomer. Flowers are about 5/8" across, are long lasting and fragrant.
NOTE: for those who pay attention to names, we have listed the parent species as 'sotoanum' instead of the former 'ornithorhynchum' as the latter was changed due to recent research.
