Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' AM/AOS 4"
Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' AM/AOS
Parentage: (Jamie Sutton X Honolulu)
This is the one! Some say, when it's warm, the flowers smell like chocolate, some say it's vanilla, but which ever one you think, it's lovely. Sharry Baby has been exceptionally popular since it's introduction in 1983.
Like many Oncidium types, Sharry Baby like bright indirect light and is fairly temperature tolerant (55-65 degree nights). These are planted in New Zealand sphagnum moss that should be kept moist, not soggy, in part because when sphagnum becomes dry, it's difficult to re-wet.
TIP: if moss isn't taking on water let the plant stand in water for 15-20 minutes or get a quart of tepid water and add a couple drops of dish soap and use it to soak the moss.
Flowers are about 1" across and, on mature plants, spikes can exceed 36" tall.
Enjoy!
