(Rlc. California Queen X S. cernua)
This paring should produce shapely compact Rhyncholaeliocattleyas (S. cernua has been reclassified as a Cattleya) in reds and oranges. Cattleya cernua is the smallest of the Cattleya species and it is one of the former Sophronitis that can grow under warmer conditions. The plants would like bright, indirect light and temperatures between about 60-65 degrees at night to 8-85 degrees during the day, Water normally year-round, avoid soggy media and add a liquid or water soluble fertilizer to the watering regimen once a month.
